UPDATE #12: NAME OF 8TH VICTIM RELEASED RELATED TO INTERSTATE 84 FATAL BUS CRASH

.he names of the 8th victim and his wife who is being treated at a Seattle, Washington area hospital are released this morning after confirmation that next of kin notifications were completed. During the week, the Oregon State Medical Examiner's Office positively identified all nine victims of last Sunday's fatal bus crash that killed 9 people and injured 38 others along Interstate 84 east of Pendleton, Oregon. The name of the 9th victim is still withheld until family advises they have been able to contact necessary next of kin.

The 8th victim is identified as SEOKMIN MOON, age 55, from Maple Ridge, British Columbia. His wife, CHOONJA MOON, age 53, is being treated at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. Her name was not previously released.

The Oregon State Police and State Medical Examiner's Office thanks the Korean Consulate, Consulate of Canada, and victims' families for their continued help during the difficult process of identifying the victims and notifying next of kin. The Consulates have also been very helpful in coordinating property identification and release to survivors and families of the deceased victims.
